Who are you going to send your compliments to this Valentines Day?

We are pleased to announce a special event on February 8th featuring some local flavor and several of our favorite lines worthy of praise and perfect to compliment a Valentine!

Join us to hear and meet the well-loved local chef, author, beekeeper and owner of Laurey's Catering, Laurey Masterton.

She will be speaking at 11:30 and 12:30, giving a short demo and talk about her new book,The Fresh Honey Cookbook.

Learn about the different types of honey in cooking and sample several varieties of honey.  She'll be available between talks for book signing and more.

We are going to serve two treats, throughout the day, both made from Laurey's recipes.

Also featured that day, are the new April Cornell nightgowns and table linens for spring!  They are so beautifully feminine, gorgeous white cotton gowns that just 'sing' Valentine's!

We will also be running a special on some of the Thymes products to make way for several new fragrances.  We'll have beautiful plants, arrangements and plenty of things to inspire you to find a perfect gift for your loved ones.

Please join us on Sat. Feb 8th. 10am-5:30 for our special event.

Fairy House Workshop

We are very excited about our upcoming Fairy House Workshop which will be happening Saturday September 21 at 2:00 pm.  This workshop, like our popular Fairy Garden Workshop, will incorporate natural found materials to create a miniature sized home for the fairies in your home and garden.  Here's an example of one we made:

This house incorporates stone, bark, moss, a dried gourd, rose hips, seed pods, pine cone shingles, and some popsicle sticks.  Autumn in the perfect time to create these houses as there is an abundance of leaves, seed pods, and other dried items to get creative with.  We'll start the class off with a scavenger hunt in the garden to collect objects to incorporate into our projects.

Think about your house ahead of time and bring in things from home like small baskets or containers that could be used to make a fairy hut or even miniature tree house.  Fairy houses can be made for an indoor fairy garden, or to withstand the elements outside.

$20 Fee covers all materials and instruction, but participants are encouraged to bring in objects from home to incorporate into their house.
This workshop requires pre-registration to ensure we have enough materials, call us at 828-658-3700 to sign up

This book is available to help you gather ideas and will be available during the class.

Here's some photos of what I collected before making my fairy house.

Dried flowers and pinecones

Seedpods, moss, and more pinecones

Moss from the garden makes a great green roof

Pine needles and mulch can be used in many ways

and they all came together to make this:
