Fairy House Workshop

We are very excited about our upcoming Fairy House Workshop which will be happening Saturday September 21 at 2:00 pm.  This workshop, like our popular Fairy Garden Workshop, will incorporate natural found materials to create a miniature sized home for the fairies in your home and garden.  Here's an example of one we made: This house incorporates stone, bark, moss, a dried gourd, rose hips, seed pods, pine cone shingles, and some popsicle sticks.  Autumn in the perfect time to create these houses as there is an abundance of leaves, seed pods, and other dried items to get creative with.  We'll start the class off with a scavenger hunt in the garden to collect objects to incorporate into our projects. Think about your house ahead of time and bring in things from home like small baskets or containers that could be used to make a fairy hut or even miniature tree house.  Fairy houses can be made for an indoor fairy garden, or to withstand the elements outside. $20 Fee covers

Summer Weddings

This has been a summer full of flowers.  Despite the rain.  Not only from our garden to sell in the shop, but flowers for weddings!  Laura was commissioned for flower arrangements for several small weddings in July and August and has been gaining confidence as the customers appreciate her work. Here is a sampling from the latest; just finished yesterday, with a mix of flowers from the garden, local flower farms and the local wholesale supplier. Fresh Garden Bouquets

This year we have enhanced our cut flowers thanks to the hard work of our friends Anne and Christian who have planted the back half of our garden with cutting flowers.  The selection includes Zinnia, Strawflower, Sunflower, Globe Amaranth, Celosia, Statice, Snapdragons, and a few more surprises.   We hope to offer fresh bouquets on Mondays and Fridays and can cut special orders upon request.  Stop by for some flowers to brighten someone's day!

May Flowers

This long, cool, rainy spring has brought us some beautiful blooms to enjoy! We are cutting bouquets on request as well as having sweet little nosegays and arrangements made up fresh from our garden and ready to pick up.  They're a great little thank you or hostess gift!       This is a perennial yellow foxglove that likes part sun/shade .    One of specialties is container gardening. We love to help customers find the perfect combinations of plants for their window boxes, pots and planters.  We are also available to do on-site potting at your home or business.  Call us for more information or to set up an appointment.

Spring Open House

Today marks our 7th Annual Spring Open House! We have been super busy getting ready for our busiest time of the year.  We have gotten in a great selection of perennials, pots, garden tools and amendments, and of course exciting new gifts that every gardener or garden lover will be thrilled to receive.  We also went ahead and got in some annuals for colorful container or bedding plantings for those who just can't wait any longer.  We've been having perfect gardening weather, so come in today, or sometime soon to see all that's new!

Workshop Sign-up

We have started using facebook as way to spread the word about our workshops.  You can invite your friends on facebook to join you to a class or workshop you are attending, or if you think you know someone who might be interested. For those of you not into facebook, we have our schedule posted here on our blog on the right hand side, along with a link to sign-up. If you sign up online, we will call you to officially register ahead, to save you a place in the class.  Also, in case you didn't know, our monthly e-newsletter is a great way to stay informed about classes and other events here.  The sign-up for that is also over on the right hand column.   Thanks for your interest and we look forward to offering more classes through the year!

Waiting for Spring

In anticipation for spring, we are getting in new items for the season every week.  We are currently unpacking our largest delivery of new pots for the year, stay tuned for some photos-there are some real beauties this year! Even though the first offical day is still 3 weeks away, you can come in and get a shot of spring and some great ideas too!     We are stocked up on flower and vegetable seeds. There is a whole selection of seeds that could be sown outside this month!
