Freshen Up with Autumn Color

As the cooler temperatures arrive so do new plants for sprucing up outdoor containers and garden beds. We enjoy mixing hardy herbs and vegetables into our outdoor arrangements along with pansies for a pop of color.  Evergreen foliage like Heuchera (aka Coral Bells), Ajuga, Euphorbias, Vincas and more can give a planted arrangement year-round interest and striking texture and color contrast   A more traditional choice is to center a conifer in the pot and surround it with pansies and ivy or vinca for a trailing effect.  Whatever your taste, there is no need to leave your outdoor containers empty during the cold.

May Celebrations

May Day, Mother's Day, Graduations, Weddings... May is the month that kicks off the season for outdoor parties and celebrations.  Even if you're not hosting or attending a gathering, chances are that you're ready to spruce up the patio, back deck and/or garden so that you can really enjoy your outdoor living spaces. The annual plants are here in abundant color as well as the heirloom summer veggie starts.  It also not too late to add some perennials to your garden.  New deliveries of plants arrive every week and we seek out the healthiest, most interesting varieties we can find. Also just in, due to popular demand, wish lanterns!  We have them in all the colors of the rainbow, perfect for finishing off an evening party in a festive and beautiful way.

Annual Spring Open House

Celebrate Earth Day at our Annual Spring Open House April 21-22 9am-6pm        Due to the early Spring, we have more plants to offer at our open house than ever before, especially perennials.  We're also getting in some wonderful native shrubs, just in time for Earth Day.  What better way to celebrate mother nature than to plant some native plants.  In addition, we'll have some refreshments to enjoy while you browse through the gift shop and the gardens.   Come see what's new for the spring and summer! Mention you saw this online and recieve 10% off during the Open House!

What's new...

Here are some shots from around the shop today. The warm weather is making us all busy in the garden.  There are a lot of people wanting to go ahead and plant the warm weather annuals and vegetables.  It is best to focus now on perennials, shrubs and trees.   Dividing, transplanting and planting new perennials in your beds are all great activities right now. And with all the rain we're having, the burden of watering is not as heavy.  Of course, the rain and warmth makes the weeds grow too... We've gotten in wonderful perennials for sun and shade and are just beginning to get a few annuals and blooming baskets in.  If you do plant annuals, make sure you take notice of the weather and any late freezes we might have later in the month, and be prepared to cover at night.  (hopefully not... but you never know!) Our annual Spring Open House is April 21-22nd; overlapping Earth Day, so come celebrate with us and find something wonder...
